Pike Piranha (Serrasalmus elongatus) is a slender and elongated piranha species belonging to the Serrasalminae subfamily of the Characidae family. It is commonly known as the elongated piranha or pike piranha due to its shape. This species is found in both black and white waters, with adults inhabiting deep, white waters while juveniles are usually found in shallow black waters of lagoons. In its native range across Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil, it occurs in the Amazon and Rio Orinoco river basins.
